Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am a Caretaker of some pretty special Residents!! These Residents are my family when I am not with my family!! I do my very best to make their last days their best!! Depending on the day my residents are having determines what we get accomplished! Some days are better than others. Sometimes I just listen to them talk ( with them not knowing they are not making much sense) or listen to their frustrations!! Sometimes I answer the same question EVERY 6 seconds!! Sometimes I hold their hands when they are lonely or scared, and I remind them that they are loved by their family and me! Sometimes I play bingo with them and let them pick the prize when I bingo!! Sometimes they are waiting on their family to come pick them up not realizing that they can't go home and I have to redirect them. Sometimes my job makes my heart break when I see them struggling to get through the day. Sometimes they make me smile from ear to ear!!Sometimes they can't remember all of the words to the Lord's Prayer! Sometimes I dress up and parade around the room just to get a chuckle out of them!! I do dress up for every Holiday because I want to remind them what time of year it is!! I do wear bright colored printed scrubs and I get compliments every time!! I have to admit that One of the perks of being a Caretaker is that we also get to know their families and they become a part of our family too!! I am so thankful for my residents and their families!! I will always be a Caretaker and I will always be right by their side!! Come join me in the fight to end this awful disease, Together We Can Make a Difference!!
