This tribute is for our dad, Al Riesbeck, who passed away last month after battling Alzheimer's for several years.
When he was diagnosed, he didn't let it slow him down. He still had a constant twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin. He made jokes and kept us laughing. His goal was to live to be 100.
He had worked as a computer programmer for the Veterans Administration for more than 30 years, writing programs to pay disabled veterans for their service. He was an avid photographer, traveling the country, capturing gorgeous landscapes and wildlife with his amazing eye.
He spent 47 years caring for our mom, Barb, his two girls, Vicki and Jennifer, and his two grandchildren and 2 granddogs.
For those of you who knew Al, please remember his fabulous sense of humor, his love of his family and friends, his devotion to the Cubs, and his obsession with cameras. We will miss him dearly.
