Mrs. Dodson Calls You To Action
Many people's lives were positively impacted by Colleene (Hillman) Dodson. She taught 7th and 8th grade English at Washington Jr. High School during the 60's and 70's and later again when WJHS was joined with BHS in the 80's & 90's. Everyone knew Colleene to be a gifted teacher who accepted people for who they were and encouraged them to be the best that they could be. She had a contagious positive attitude toward life, and its challenges, and strove for excellence in all that she did.
In her later years, Colleene was striken by Alzheimer's disease and became unable to live by herself. She often commented that she did not want flowers at her memorial, she wanted to receive them while she was still living, which she did.
In lieu of flowers to honor her extraordinary life, her family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of her. Colleene passed away peacefully with her children and son-in-law by her side on Friday, January 29, 2016.
