Zoilo Bernabe Marrero was born approximately 77 years ago as a poor boy. Through hard work and dedication he came to own three grocery stores and a theater in his native country of Cuba. However due to political reasons he immigrated to the United States leaving behind his parents and sisters to better the life's of his three children. In the United States he continued his hard work and dedication which is the core values that his three children have today. He was a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He always left everyone with a smile and never left with anger. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's that ultimately ended his life. Due to this we are asking not for flowers or sympathy cards but donations to find a cure for this disease. God bless.

Although I never had the pleasure to meet this man, I have been blessed to know his grandson for the past four years. He is a respectable and loving young man and I know his grandfather would be very proud. A cure for Alzheimer's would allow for more quality time spent with those we love and more memories to share with the people we care for most.

Dear Jorge, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The pain is all too familiar and I do know what you are going through. I am so sorry you lost your Dad. Your life will not be the same without him. I think of my Dad everyday and now 6 months later the memories of his last days of pain and suffering are less and my thoughts and memories of him are all good and he makes me smile and reflect on all the good memories and times we had together. I wish the same for you. I hope to see you all soon so I may give you my condolences in person.......My love to you all,Chickie...It is our pleasure to make a donation for a great cause

For the family of the recently departed Mr. Marrero, especially for Jorge Marrero:
The lessons of a life as rich and complex as Mr. Marrero can never be forgotten by those who knew him well. The gift of his life was the family that he loved, the people that he touched and the loving spirit that he embodied. May we all seek to follow in Mr. Marrero's footsteps as the children of God, being loving when others are not and grateful even when we are struggling.
God bless the family and keep you in these difficult days. Losing a father, husband and grandfather is no small matter.
My sincerest sympathies,
Ann R. Bumbak

NOT KNOWING HIM PERSONALLY BUT KNOWING HOW MUCH HIS GRANDAUGHTER LOVED HIM LETS ME KNOW WHAT A WONDERFUL PERSON HE WAS. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL OF THE FAMILY. ALTHOUGH IT IS DIFFICULT AT THIS TIME FOR ALL OF YOU. HE IS AT REST AND HIS SOUL IS WITH GOD IN HEAVEN.
