Amneris Sassi Piraino, age 99, passed away on January 19, 2021. She was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, raised and married in Brazil. A beautiful, elegant, smart, capable and courageous woman that married Frank Walter. They were an inseparable couple, worked together, were and are still in love to this day. They moved to New York City in 1962 and raised 4 kids. Amneris was an administrator and an accomplished artist. She enjoyed opera, oil painting, needlepoint, and cooking. Amneris was fluent in Italian and then learned English. Her Italian family named her Amneris from Verdi. She was a dynamic lady, dedicated to her family, a great mom, wife, a special grandmother, aunt, friend, sister, daughter and always embarked in new journeys with her family. She is survived by her husband Frank Walter, her 4 kids, Livio, Suely, Rosely, Frank Jr.; 7 grandkids, Daniela, Marina, Giampaolo, Daniel, Jessica, Jason, and Jesse; and 5 great grandchildren.
