Diagnosed with vascular dementia, the life of my beautiful, strong, caring, talented, accomplished, energetic mother's life was cut short.
She was my best friend. The bond only grew stronger over time. I cannot find the words, at this time, to express my deep sadness when her rapid decline took away her ability to talk and walk with me. I will cherish the final smiles she shared and the last time she told me she loved me.
Many from both her personal and professional lives have shared loving memories of the support, help, comfort and joy that mother gave them over the years.
She was deeply rooted in the Ukrainian community and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where she was always very active. Her faith kept her strong even through the most difficult times in her life.
She will be missed.
