Sonia graduated from New York University in the class of 1951. She married the novelist Warren Adler and celebrated 67 year of marriage before Warren passed away in 2018. In 1975, Sonia co-founded the society magazine Washington Dossier with her sons David and Jonathan. She became an editorial force covering the power scene in the Nation's Capital during the Ford, Carter, Reagan, and GWH Bush years.
Prior to the Washington Dossier, Sonia was a photographer and confidant to her husband Warren. Following the sale of Washington Dossier, Sonia and Warren lived in New York City, Los Angeles California, and Jackson Hole Wyoming.
Her husband Warren Adler wrote a moving tribute in the AARP magazine that talked about the struggle to take care of a spouse who has been afflicted with Alzheimer's. https://www.aarp.org/caregiving/stories/info-2019/warren-adler.html
