Louis "Butch" Pastorini was a boisterous, vibrant, funny, loud and full-of-life person. He was born in San Francisco on April 5, 1944, to Dante and Dorothy Pastorini. He has two older sisters and a younger brother.
The family moved to Sonora in 1949, where Butch's parents built and operated an Italian restaurant called Pastorini's Longhorn, which had legendary cuisine.
Butch attended Columbia Elementary and then Sonora High School where he played football and wrestled. He attended Santa Clara University where he continued playing football and was on the little All-American Team.
He went on to receive his MA in Educational Administration and to marry his high school sweetheart Mary Hamilton and had three children Todd, Jennifer and Stefani.
Butch worked as a math teacher, vice principal, principal and Assistant Superintendent in the Santa Clara Unified School District his entire career.
He coached football at Santa Clara University for the Broncos for 25 years. Butch later married Susan and became a step-dad to her three children Jeff, Mark and Tracey, and they were together 24 years.
Butch loved to enjoy time with friends and family, ride horses, hunt, camp, waterski, travel, cook, eat and listen to Frank Sinatra. He also had 5 grandchildren and lots of grand puppies.
Butch's mother Dorothy passed away from Alzheimer's, his mother-in-law, Ida, passed away from Lewy Bodies Dementia, and he started showing signs around 2011.
Alzheimer’s was a life altering disease for Butch, and if through donations he can help more people it would be a great gift.
His big personality and joyful laughter will always live on in our memory of him.
His mind was taken, his spirit lives on!
