When I was first approached about joining Blondes vs. Brunettes 6 years ago, I had no idea what it was or what I was in for. The idea of exercising while making new friends for a good cause drew me in but I also unfortunately had a personal connection to Alzheimer's. My Great Grandma Bell had Alzheimer's. I didn't understand it as a child, but as an adult, I have seen first hand how devastating this disease is for families. Great Grandma Bell inspired me to join BvB but my teammates keep me signing up year after year. They are some of the strongest, greatest women that I know. They have learned how to take something so horrible, that could have easily broken them, and turn it in to an opportunity to fight for themselves and others so that no one ever has to lose another loved one to his disease. I play for them, their families and all of us!
This is my 5th season fighting for a cure by playing flag-football and fundraising for Blondes vs. Brunettes, a flag football game and fundraising competition to help end Alzheimer’s. Last year alone we raised over $80,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Collectively, we have raised over $300,000 since the inagural year in 2012. Together we can make a difference on and off the field! It is because of people like you that we can impact the community. Together we can tackle Alzheimer's!
In Blondes vs. Brunettes we may be opponents on the field, but when it comes to Alzheimer’s, we’re all on the same side. This is a disease that must be defeated and we need your continued support to do it. Your donation will advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Thank you for helping us tackle this disease – win or lose, our true goal is a world without Alzheimer’s!
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
