The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
Family and friends, I am once again participating in the Camel's Hump Challenge! One of New England's premier backcountry skiing events, The Camel's Hump Challenge is a 25km highcountry traverse around the perimeter of Camel's Hump, the third-highest peak in Vermont's Green Mountains. This annual fundraiser supports the Vermont Alzheimer's Association. I am, as always, honored to participate! Personally, I am skiing in memory of my grandmother, Marion (Tutu) Clendaniel, who suffered with Alzheimer's disease at the end of her life. As an avid sailor, bobsledder, horseback rider, and Vermont resident, Tutu would have loved just such an adventure as the Camel's Hump Challenge!
This year's event will be a little different due to the COVID health and safety guidelines in place for Vermont. It is important to us to give participants a way to take part this year despite the limitations of the pandemic, and so we are encouraging everyone to undertake a challenge of their own choosing, a virtual CHC!
I need your support to do my part to encourage the great work that the Alzheimer's Association does! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
You can make your donation through my page and it will go in support of my team, the Hot Toddies! Even though the event will be different this year, I am excited to get out into the snowy Vermont mountains on my own this winter to ski the challenge trail individually. I will send along some photos and notes about my personal challenge once I complete it!
Thank you for joining our movement and for your generous support! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
