For Nate's Mom, Caroline...
So I'm lucky enough to have a fun group of people to get out and play in the woods with be it on bikes or skis. It's an impressive collection of goofballs that have come together in our little corner of Vermont. Very soon we plan to spend a day circumnavigating one of the Green Mountain State's tallest peaks on cross country skis. I'm not exactly fit, so I guarantee there will be some exhaustion and a little pain, but I am certain there will also be whole lot of smiles and laughs. A good chunk of those good times will be because of the king of awkwardness and dry humor, Nate Blanks. I've come to learn that Nate's mom Caroline suffers from Alzheimer's. While I have not met Caroline, I do know Nate is as good of a riding and skiing buddy as you can get, and an an all-around good chap. I have to think his dear mother has a lot to do with that. So I'm dedicating my fundraising efforts to Caroline, Nate, and the rest of their family, and to all the other people that suffer from this disease and those who provide support to them.
So if you are lucky enough to have the means, be it $5 or $500, please consider contributing to our fundraiser.
By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Vermont Chapter and its work to enhance care and support programs. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
