Alzheimer Fundraising
Hey friends and family,
Thanks for taking a look at this page. As most of you know, my mom has been dealing with Alzheimer's disease since about 2018. During this time, she's maintained good spirits and our family has gotten closer as a result, but obviously there are days when she and those who care about her feel somewhat dejected. Everyone faces hardships with loved ones and often times we are left wondering what we can do. My cynical nature thinks very little, but upon some deliberation I want to take part in this event for a few reasons. Most importantly, I think seeing all this support will bring a big, deserved smile to my mom’s face. Charity also has a selfish component and that's okay. I love skiing and can’t wait to be surrounded by others with a similar goal because dealing with this can be isolating. Lastly, the Alzheimers Association seems like a well run organization that works to provide care and support programs (some of which my sister and I have utilized), as well as advance research for treatment and prevention that could impact over 6 million Americans with Alzheimers. Chances are you know or will know someone affected.
