Doing something really hard in my mom's honor
Friends and family,
As you know, my mom, Janet, died this past year after a long battle with dementia. It is a battle that more and more families are fighting every year, and it is a losing one. Lucia and I are trying to rally some troops to take part in this backcountry ski benefit in Northern Vermont through the Alzheimer's association in order to raise money for research as well as support for patients and caregivers. If you can find it in your wallets to donate to the cause (no matter how small the amount), maybe we can begin to even out this battle, or, at least, make things easier for people along the way. All funds I raise will directly support the efforts of the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Will you consider making a donation? It's easy to give online by following the link below. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Much love to all of you,
Shawn and Lucia Magee
By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
