Van Matthews Page
Once again, for the 13th time, we will have a host of avid cyclists riding across South Carolina to help find a way to #EndAlz. We began this ride 13years ago with 21 cyclists and have had over 300 for the last 6 years. It is a ride for a wonderful cause. And once again, I am building a bowl in my studio from Maple and Purpleheart to bring attention to my participation and to help raise money for this worthy cause. This year I am naming the piece “Rays of Hope” using the purple colors of the Alzheimer’s Association as the rays of hope. Thanks to all who gave last year and congrats to Charlie C who won the bowl. Now here is how you can get a ticket to win the bowl:
If you will make a donation of $25 dollars to the ride on this page and include your name, you will get one ticket in a drawing that will occur at the end of the ride. If you make a donation of $100 you will get 5 tickets. I am hoping that this effort will raise at least $3500 and I will once again turn those pedals from Simpsonville to Charleston in July.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Now is the time to come together to change the course of this disease!
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you so much, and good luck in the raffle.
