Van Matthews Page
You may recall that last year I donated my prize creation, a 13 inch bowl which I turned in my studio to raise money for our ride. The bowl was won by Kate Barton Lacher who owns it today. Well I have made another one for this year's ride. And added two extra woods. This one is Walnut, Maple, Purpleheart, Cherry, Redheart and Yellowheart. I finished it while staying home this March and April as we shelter from the Corona Virus. We began this ride 12 years ago with 21 cyclists and have had over 300 for the last 5 years. It is a ride for a wonderful cause. Now here is how you can get a ticket to win the bowl:
If you will make a donation of $25 dollars to the ride on this page and include your name, you will get one ticket in a drawing that will occur at the end of the ride. If you make a donation of $100 you will get 5 tickets. I am hoping that this effort will raise at least $3500 and I will once again turn those pedals from Simpsonville to Charleston in July.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Now is the time to come together to change the course of this disease!
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you so much, and good luck in the raffle.
