Riding in Celebration of Pat Allman

This July, I am cycling across South Carolina to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in A Ride to Remember benefiting the Alzheimer's Association, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
My mother, Patsy Washburn Allman, passed away on March 17, 2010 from Alzheimer's disease. For me, this ride will be a celebration of her life and the best way I can think of to honor her memory. I will also be riding for my Grandmother Francis, Aunt Margaret and Uncle Tyree whom we have also lost to this disease.
The picture in the corner is of my mom riding me around in the basket of her bike. It is on my refrigerater at home and I look at it every day. I love this pic! :) It seems only fitting that I ride to honor my mother in the Ride to Remember.
I have committed to participate in A Ride to Remember because I understand how devastating this disease can be. My legs and my mom’s wings will carry me the 250+ miles but I need your support! I have set a fundraising goal of $2000. Please consider making a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. Every dollar helps!!!
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Thank you in advance for supporting me on this momentous journey and joining the fight against this disease.
