My Personal Fundraising Page
We are running the NY Marathon in order to raise awareness and understanding around this terrible disease. Our strong mother, Nicole Holthuis, was diagnosed in 2021 at the young age of 55. Our mom is sort of the definition of a kind, strong and absolutely brilliant woman who raised us 3 girls alongside our pops, Doug Inamine.
This disease is the very last thing we could have expected - affecting us deeply. We are cherishing every moment we have left with our mom and since running together is one of the activities we can still all participate in as a family, we figured running this marathon (our first) in her honor would be the perfect way to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Association.
By participating in this event, we have committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association®.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. It affects everyone, including those as young, superhuman and smart as our own mom. We must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's disease!
