It is difficult for anyone to understand Alzheimer's disease until they witness the long battle first-hand. We have witnessed our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and aunt, Laura Doyle’s painful struggle and slow decline over 12 years, which was devastating in countless ways. The Alzheimer’s Association and their remarkable staff were a Godsend for advice, support, resources, and a shoulder to cry on when needed. It’s been a little over two years since Mom lost her battle and, as we heal from the experience, we realize how fortunate we are to have the support and friendships we formed along the way.
In 2011, on a whim, Mike Doyle was the first family member daring enough to jump in the Alzheimer’s SubZero Heroes event. This started what has grown to be the Doyle Divers today. We are incredibly grateful for the many daring Doyle Diver members who were/are adventurous enough to jump with us throughout the years, and for the ones who have supported us by standing in the freezing cold on the shore cheering us on, as well as the ones that support us through their generous donations. We can only hope you all understand how much this means to us. In the end, our joint goal is to support the Alzheimer’s Association in their efforts to put an end to Alzheimer’s disease and your continued support is endlessly appreciated by every member of the Doyle Diver’s. Thank you.
