My Personal Fundraising Page
I have done a couple Polar Plunges over the past couple of years for the Special Olympics. This is my first time doing the Plunge for Alzheimer’s. I am plunging this year on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club in memory of a dear friend David W. Schwarz born January 1st, 1948 and passed on June 13th,2008 from Alzheimer’s. He was one of the hardest working men I knew growing up and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He was always a helping hand in our community and was always there for my family every chance he got. He was best friends with my grandfather, and more like a uncle to myself. After a long fight against Alzheimer’s, David was taken from us and left a true impact on all of us. He is truly missed, and never forgotten. This year I will plunge for David and help share awareness of this devastating disease that has hit close to my home.
Being the Torch Club Adviser for the Boys & Girls Club it is important for me to lead by example. Torch Club is a service Club within the Club that does GREAT work to uplift the lives of others, make positive contributions in the community and build good character.
Being part of Torch Club will afford a positive impact on members, the Club and community. I am excited to plunge for such a worthy cause to inspire my Torch Club members. The role of adviser plays a vital role in mentoring the Torch Club members. I take this responsibility very seriously and will make my Club Proud when I plunge for Alzheimer’s!
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
