Why would I do a crazy thing like jump into a freezing reservoir in February? Because my family has been directly affected by Alzheimer’s disease and I saw, first-hand, how this relentless disease seeps further and deeper than I ever expected or was prepared for. In the end, my Alzheimer’s journey took significant hits, experienced a lot of grief, and made me realize how much we’ve grown as a family through it all. The Alzheimer’s Association and its wonderful staff was with me throughout it all and provided me with a community of people who truly understood what it was to be in my shoes. I jump for my family’s health by doing what I can to support research and to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s wonderful work.
