Raising money for Alzheimer's research
I am participating in my 9th annual Memory Ride to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. As many of you know, my father was affected by Alzheimer’s for many years and sadly lost his fight in 2015. Because I have seen the seriousness of this disease first hand, I would like to do my part in making a difference. I have pledged to raise $3000.00 for Alzheimer's research.
One thing that I can do, and it is a small thing, is to bike - to raise money for desperately needed research and to help raise awareness.
I watched this disease progress in front of my eyes and slowly see my father change from an amazingly strong, smart, independent individual to someone who was dependent on someone else for every basic need. I struggled watching his memories deteriorate.
Alzheimer's is the only disease, out of the top 10 leading causes of death that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed. Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative and fatal disease of the brain. People with Alzheimer’s disease slowly lose their abilities to remember, to think, to communicate and to care for themselves. Ultimately, they become totally dependent on others for their daily care.
Please help me by supporting me with a donation. Proceeds from Memory Ride go directly to Alzheimer's research.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. The end of Alzheimer’s starts with us!
