Running For My Mom
I have been running competitively since 2000. During those 22 years I've ran for my middle school, high school, college, and recreationally as an adult. My mom has been my biggest supporter throughout all of the years. She has been to almost all of my races and has endured bad weather and crowds to cheer me on. She has supported me through my best and worst races. In 2020 we learned my mom has alzheimers. As of now she is still able to watch most of my races as long as they're local. Unfortunatley I know she won't be able to come out and support me for much longer. My goal is to run 50 marathons in 50 states while raising awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.
By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
