Meghan Braciska's Fundraising Event in Honor of Richard "Dick" Hayden and Edie Prevedi
Hi Family and Friends,
This upcoming January 30th, 2022 I will be running my first marathon, the Big Beach Marathon in Gulf Shores, AL. I will be running this race to raise awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
I will be running this race in honor and remembrance of loved ones who have been effected by Alzheimers Disease. My Grandfather, Richard "Dick" Hayden, faught a courageous battle with Alzheimers. We lost my grandfather this past March, but have not ceased to remember the incredbile man that he was each day. My grandfather was wise, brave, and never lost his kind smile in the face of this tough disease. I am also running to honor my aunt, Edie Prevedi, who also faced a courageous battle against Alzheimers, and never let her spirit, laughter, and dance moves change in the face of this challenge. Lastly, I am running for all those family members and friends who have been effected by the tragectory of this disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please consider supporting my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
