2020 is upon us, bringing with it a new decade of exciting scientific research into the development of a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. There has been over 6.9 million dollars raised through events like this to help further research into early screening, the development of therapies and advancements in the care for those already living with the effects of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Last year saw a total donation of a little over 500.00. This year, my goal is to reach a donation of 1,000.00. To do this, I need your help. This year, every donation made will be ribbon placed on my bike. Ribbons can be for rememberance of a loved one, a current fighter, a caregiver or simply a sponsor to the cause. 30 miles with a bike covered in ribbons? What a better way to usher in a new decade of research towards the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
My maternal Grandmother, who my fundraiser is named after, passed away after a long battle with this memory stealing disease and I'm commited to raising money to help develop a cure for Alzheimer's in my lifetime. Science is our best defense and today there are numerous studies being done to help develop early detection and therapies to impact the progression of the disease in those already effected.
Every dollar raised goes directly to the researchers and their relentless fight to find a cure. I will be riding 30 miles again this year in hopes of raising awareness and funds for a rapidly growing and absolutly heartbreaking diesease.
If you would like to make a donation in the name of a loved one, please include their name so it can be added to a ribbon.
Thank you for your support,
