Tommy's Ride to End Alzheimer's
Having not ridden a road bike in I don't know how long, riding 100 miles seemed daunting when my buddy Nick asked me to join him in this year's fundraising ride. Having watched my superhero father's unwavering love and care for my mom, Susie, these past couple of years...that is daunting. Riding 1,000 miles, never mind 100, would be far easier than dedicating your life to caring for a loved one with this simply awful disease.
My mother is the most selfless and loving person I've ever known - The fact she is my mom is the definitition of a blessing. I'm raising whatever dollars I can to honor her. I'm raising whatever dollars I can to honor my dad, whose love and care of his lady is the stuff of hollywood movie scripts. I'm raising whatever dollars I can to honor our dear family friend and neighbor, Mr. John Macke...and I'm raising whatever dollars I can because my man, Nick Marsney and his brother, crushed this ride last year in honor of their beautiful mother. Nick told me to get off my ass and join the fight...and so I shall.
Please support my efforts by making a donation, if at all possible. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and their ground breaking momentum in the field of Alzheimer's research. 90% of the funds raised go toward the Association's efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Help me cycle towards a world with our first survivor. Thank you!
