Help put and end to Alzheimer's
It is difficult to believe that nearly two years have passed since we lost my mom, Ruth Buckler. While I try to keep my memories focused on the precious times when we enjoyed her whole and vibrant self, I cannot fully keep from recalling the pain and helplessness that mom and our family endured in her final years as she slowly left us. I will Ride to End Alz again in support the vision of helping others avoid what mom and my family endured during those most difficult times.
This year, with my amazing friends Craig, Eva, Jack, Sean, and Silas, I continue to ride in memory of mom. I also ride in memory of Doris Barker Barnes, William Sydney Barnes Sr, Gertrude Baynes, Arthur Holmberg, Alfred R Kennedy, James Luiz, Una Milton, Shirley O'Donnell, and Barbara Ross. I also ride in honor of Gloria Goobie, and in honor of family members who have supported and cared for these loved ones in their time of greatest need.
Thanks to those of you who have previously and generously donated in support of this ride; I do hope I can count on you once again to help with the fight. Since the search for effective Alzheimer's Disease treatments continues to be one of the greatest biomedical challenges and largest healtccare burdens of our age, I ask that you consider giving new or renewed support for research that aims to stem this growing epidemic. All funds I raise will directly support the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association, the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s research.
Thank you for your generosity. The end of Alzheimer’s starts with us!
