Help put and end to Alzheimer's
Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues,
2020 has certainly become a challenging year in so many ways. With so much focus, and rightfully so, on keeping our families, friends, co-workers, and communities safe, it is difficult to keep in mind what remain important healthcare challenges that profoundly impact the lives of so many people.
That said, I and my dear friends, Craig, Eva, Jack, and Sean (aka “The Cranks”) remain committed to support the efforts that aspire to improve the care and bring an end to the suffering caused by Alzheimer’s Disease. This year, we continue with greater resolve to ride in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. While our ride will be done in a socially distant manner in the month of June, which is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month, we will be getting on those bikes and putting in the miles that have more meaning than our training rides!
I will again be riding in memory of my mom, Ruth Buckler, as well as Doris Barker Barnes, William Sydney Barnes Sr, Gertrude Baynes, Arthur Holmberg, Alfred R Kennedy, James Luiz, Una Milton, Shirley O'Donnell, and Barbara Ross. I also ride in honor of Gloria Goobie, and in honor of family members who have supported and cared for these loved ones in their time of greatest need.
Since the search for effective Alzheimer's Disease treatments continues to be one of the greatest biomedical challenges and largest healthcare burdens of our age, I ask that you consider giving new or renewed support for research that aims to stem this growing epidemic. All funds I raise will directly support the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association, the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s research.
Thank you for your generosity. The end of Alzheimer’s starts with us!
