Run for Alice Coakley - Team Alzheimers
I RUN for ALICE - Year 4 - Donations of all size most welcome!
I will be running in just over one week in the Falmouth Road Race (50th Anniversary!) as a member of Team End ALZ to support the Alzheimer's Association. I run to honor of my mother Alice Coakley who battled ALZ with the same grace, KINDNESS, and toughness as she lived her life; sadly we lost her in February 2020 just before her 92nd birthday. I still miss her smiling face and good humor every day!
We have been humbled and blessed by the past generosity of our many family and friends to this great cause. In 2022, we hope you'll help us exceed out goal of $5000. There are many great competing causes out there, and we appreciate any donation, regardless of the amount.
A few facts about ALZ:
- Older Black Americans are about twice as likely to have Alzheimer's or other dementias as older Whites?
- Older Hispanics are about 1.5X as likely to have Alzheimer's or other dementias as older Whites?
- 12.7 million people aged 65 and older are projected to have Alzheimer's by 2050?
The Alzheimer's Association needs our help to raise awareness of this disease, the no-cost support services they offer, and vital funding to advance research for treatments and a cure. The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there. But we can't find them without your help. Please donate if you can. Thank you!
