My Personal Fundraising Page
As many of you know, 12 years ago we lost my mom, Verian (Vee) Bambery to Early-Onset Alzheimer's at the age of 59. She still had so much of her life left to live ahead of her, and was taken from us before she had a chance to do just that. She never got to meet her 4 grandchildren, or enjoy her later years at the beach with my Dad, who predeceased her by just 4 months.
So 12 years and 12 days after her passing, I am running the Chicago Marathon in her memory, while raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association. My hope is that just this small act will help so that maybe one less family has to go through what we did. Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
