Russells Running for Carol
Last year Mark and I lost my mom, Carol Deaton, to dementia. It was heart wrenching watching this horrid disease slowly take her from us.
As we close in on a year of her passing, Mark and I are excited to be part of ALZ Stars - the Alzheimer's Association team. We'll be running this year's Chicago Marathon as our way of celebrating my mother's life while also raising funds to fight the disease that stole her from us.
My mom was a caretaker who generously and took care of everyone. We'd be honored if you'd join our team and help us carry on her legacy by continuing to give back to others and raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
I plan to fight until Alzheimer's and Dementia diseases are history and a memory we can gladly forget.
For you mom! <3
