My Personal Fundraising Page

By participating in the Chicago Marathon this October, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050.
As many of you are aware, several months into the covid pandemic, in July 2020, my mum finally and somewhat very quickly succumbed to Alzheimers. A lot of you know family and friends that have been or are afflicted by Alzheimers/Dementia. Over months/years, this disease slowly takes our loved ones away from us. Before our eyes we see them deteriorating until there is no recognition of their former selves and their personalities, and of course, they no longer recognize us. My mum was 82 when she died. She was a vibrant person, social, involved in her community, walked for charity all over the world, ran marathons, an Irish dancer until she could no longer attend the dances because her body and mind would not allow it. Lets join together to try to end this disease.
Please consider supporting my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
All the best,
Andrew
