In Nana's honor for an Alzheimer's free future
My Nana taught us to be family oriented, to value tradition and we never doubted that she loved each of us deeply.
Unfortunately, toward the end of her life, knowing the individuality of each of her 11 grandkids became tougher and tougher. This disease took away some of the fundamental abilities she prided herself on like remembering our birthdays and special events.
In her honor, I'm running the Chicago Marathon this year and raising funds for the Alzheimer's Association so that hopefully my mom, myself and anyone that may be predisposed to this disease can carry on Nana's legacy with their own family, traditions and love in a future without the hardships from this disease.
If you feel compelled or have been touched by this Alzheimer's in some way as well, please support me on this journey by making a donation to the cause.
