Sidra's Fundraising Page

In March of 2019 my mom was diagnosed with Frontotermporal dementia, a rare form of dementia that has no current treatment or cure. Over time FTD causes brain atrophy in the areas that control behavior and language, causing dramatic changes in personality and a loss of language and communication ability. I've spent a lot of time in the last year thinking about my mother and our lives prior to this disease, and in that time I realized that so much of what I knew about her I learned through our conversations during our morning runs in the summer while I was growing up.
In honor of her and all of those runs we went on together, I'm running the Chicago Marathon in 2020 to raise awarenes and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association®.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
