Every single step of this marathon will be run to support my smart, talented, snarky, witty, irreverent and warrior friend, Maribel Fernandez-Harvath. Maribel was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s this past fall at just 49 years young.  Maribel is in a fight for her life - literally, every...single...day.  Maribel and I were law school classmates - and are lifelong friends.   It’s all so unimaginable. And, it’s simply impossible to walk in her shoes and understand this struggle, so I’ve decided to run 26.2 miles in my own shoes in honor of Maribel.  This will be “Maribel’s Marathon”

Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
