The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here. #runningman #runningfarr #runningtoremember #runningforJesus #letsgofarr

I am the Running Man and I’m going the distance with the Alzheimer’s Association ALZ Stars®, a program to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Association. I am running the Chcago Marathon for this charity in honor of my grandfather Jack Farr who passed away from complications due to Alzheimer's disease.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research to discover methods of prevention, treatment and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer’s. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.

Thank you in advance for your generosity – together, we can outrace Alzheimer’s disease.

Sincerely Stephen Farr aka The Running Man

Running to Remember
I applied for the lottery to get a guaranteed entry into the 2019 Chicago Marathon. But on December 11 I got the e-mail telling me I was not selected. At first, I was disappointed but then I remembered that the Chicago Marathon will guarantee entry for runners who are willing to raise money for charity. I decided to look into it. As I scrolled through the list of charities nothing seemed right until I saw ALZ Stars Alzheimer's Association. Suddenly I was happy I was not selected in the lottery for a free entry in the Chicago Marathon. You see I have a life goal of running all six World Major Marathons. Chicago is going to be my first. But now I have a reason to run. I am running to remember the life of my Grandfather Jack Farr. We lost him due to complications caused by Alzheimer's disease. My grandfather was more like a father to me. I miss him every day. On October 13, 2019 I am running the Chicago Marathon. But I am not just running for a medal or for the glory of finishing one of the World Major Marathons but instead I am running to remember my grandfather Jack Farr. I am running to raise money to help end the disease that took a man I loved so much. Thank you, all of you who donate and join me in fighting Alzheimer's. Thank you for being part of giving me the chance to run to remember.
