Noelle LaFleur - Chicago 2024
Hi friends!!
I am extremely excited to announce that I will be running the 2024 Chicago Marathon to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association!
I completed my first marathon in December of 2023 and it changed my life. While it was an intense physical pursuit, beyond that it taught me about resilience, determination, and the power of setting and achieving goals. When I learned that the Alzheimer’s Association was one of the Chicago Marathon’s top raising charities, I knew this race was for me. Degenerative diseases have significantly impacted my family, thus raising money for a cause that is extremely close to my heart will make the marathon experience that much more rewarding.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease
I am running this marathon in honor of my grandmother, Grandma Dedee, who passed away from Alzheimers in 2017. Watching a loved one battle Alzheimer's is heart wrenching - witnessing their memories fade and their personality change is a painful journey of loss and helplessness that no family member should endure. It's a reminder of how precious moments shared together are, along with how fragile life really is.
Please consider supporting my efforts by making a donation - even if it’s just $5, it can truly help make a difference.
Last year the Alzheimer’s team raised over $800,000 through this event and I am excited to be able to contribute to that! Proceeds from all donations go directly to the Alzheimer's Association, supporting its efforts to improve care and support services, as well as to drive research aimed at developing treatments, preventive measures, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. On behalf of my family, I extend heartfelt gratitude for your participation in this crucial battle, working towards the day when we can celebrate survivors.
Running this race with my brother and my dad makes it all the more meaningful as we run in honor of Grandma Dedee. We ran the Honolulu Marathon together in 2023, and can't wait to do Chicago together too.
So much love,
Noelle LaFleur
