My Story

The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. And we have committed to continuing the fight against Alzheimer's disease!


Our Merrimack, NH Longest Day ALZ event is June 30, 2022.

The NH Hot DogZ for ALZ team will be selling hot dog meals for the 12th consecutive year. The day is full of fun, sharing and caring. Last year 1,500 meals were sold, and this year's goal is 2,500 meals. Our 2022 NH Hot DogZ for ALZ goal is $12,000. Linda & Greg are hoping to raise $250 towards our team goal.


Both Linda's mom Mary Ellen and her grandmother Rose experienced ALZ. Greg's maternal grandmother Maria suffered with ALZ for many years too. It is a real disease that takes a toll on the affected person's personal and physical quality of life. As many of you know through your own experiences, the journey with a loved one with Alz and similar conditions is a lesson of love.

 

Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the US alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care.
