My Story

Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.


To raise awareness and financial support for this great cause, I am thru hiking the Appalachian Trail starting March 26th. Please follow along on Facebook (Larry Autrey) as I backpack 2,193 miles through 14 states - Springer Mountain, GA to Mt. Katahdin, ME! The elevation gain/loss is equivalent to hiking Mt. Everest from sea level and back 16 times!! This epic adventure will take approximately 6 months to complete and will truly be a "Life Changing" event for me.


I'm setting off to begin this journey of a lifetime to raise $50,000 in honor of The Longest Day. It would really be great if you, your family, friends, or co-workers would participate in donating today to help advance the care, support and research efforts that the Alzheimer's Association needs in helping those facing this dreaded disease.
