We began supporting the Alzheimer's Association when our beloved Nana was diagnosed with this terrible disease. As our journey progressed, we learned more and more about Alzheimer's - how many patients, caregivers, and loved ones were affected, the history of the disease and the treatments that are being used today. But what impressed us and directly impacted us most was the tireless efforts of the people at the Alzheimer's Association. During those incredibly stressful days, nights, weeks and months, they were available 24/7 to assist us with resources, information, and many times with just a kind word or two to help us get through this. I really feel that Nana would not have received the great care she did for her final months if not for the folks at this great organization, many of whom are volunteers. Sadly, we lost MawMaw to this terrible disease as well just last year. That is why my family will continue to support the Alzheimer's Association. God Bless.
