As a fifth-generation family company with roots extending back to the 1890s, all of us know the importance of staying connected. To us, it is important that our residents and team members feel like they are a part of our family. Our commitment comes from the deep roots of our family company. Our founder, Richard Dwight (R.D.) Merrill, came to the Pacific Northwest in the 1890s to establish timber holdings. He was an innovator, the first to practice sustainable forestry, and his tradition of attention and thoughtfulness eventually grew to include the business of caring for people.
