This morning, Saturday, September 26th, 2020, 7 of us got together to walk two miles for the fight against Alzheimer's. it was great to gather for a good cause and together for the first time, we raised over $700! In previous years I had walked with another group. Then last year for the first time I tried doing a group on my own and only my husband joined me. We only raised $100. so this year feels like a big victory! But the fight is not yet won so please consider still donating to our team.
Chances are Alzheimer's, or some form of dementia has touched someone you know or will. It does not discriminate and there is no cure at this point in time. The Alzheimer's Association puts 77% of all donations directly towards support, research, education and every facet of help for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers. 16% goes to fundraising and only 7% goes to administration. This is the kind of organization I am proud to walk for and fundraise for.
I am 66 years old and free of Alzheimer's by the grace of God. But, if I or my husband should be afflicted with it, it is nice to know we would have some place, someone to turn to. My uncle died in an nursing home with Alzheimer's. I don't want that to happen to anyone else I love. Please help us work for a cure!
Thank you so much to all who have walked, given and raised funds. Thank you for all of you who will be be giving. Thank you and God bless!
