I am participating in this year's 'Walk to End Alzheimer's' in honor of my dad, James McCartney. My dad is a loving husband, wonderful father of three children and a grandfather of seven. He turned 91 years old this summer but sadly Alzheimer's has taken a terrible toll on him. For the past several years he has been experiencing a decline in his memory, including difficulty remembering names and people, conversations, events and places he visited. This past year has been extremely difficult as my dad's memory has declined significantly due to this devastating disease. While he still remembers my mom and his three kids, he has become extremely quiet and withdrawn, has episodes of agitation and confusion and needs help with basic needs.
I am walking to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and to raise money to help with the support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association, as well as the care for patients. You can make a difference. If you would like to support me in my walk on October 3, 2021, I urge you to visit my team page. My team is 'The Long Haul' Donations and prayers are always welcomed.
Thanks for joining me in the fight against Alzheimer's. We can make a difference.
