Bonnie Tolbert is our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and mother-in-law. She began showing symptoms of dementia / Alzheimer’s over a dozen years ago and over the years the Bonnie we knew has receded. We love and honor her just as much as ever, but we are saddened and at times angered by the effect Alzheimer’s has had on our family and the millions of other affected by the disease.
It may be too late for Bonnie but a cure must be found for our children and our children’s children. Alzheimer’s now afflicts 5 million Americans with 16 million people servicing as their caregivers. Estimates of the worldwide costs of Alzheimer is $1 TRILLION with projections to grow to $2.5 TRILLION by 2030.
You may not believe in movie monsters, but this monster is real. It may be strong, but WE ARE STRONGER. Perhaps in honor of a loved-one or to just give your support for a morning, please join me, my family and the very worthy Alzheimer Association in Modesto September 7, 2019 for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. If it is not possible for you to walk with us that day, please consider donating to our team, Bonnie’s Buddies.
Thank you. Together we can find a cure!
