As many of you know, my dear brother Rob was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's this past June. Rob just turned 56 the month before his diagnosis and is otherwise the picture of health - still running, active, lean and happy. While Alzheimer's generally affects older adults, about 5% of all Alzheimer's sufferers are under the age of 65 which is considered early onset or younger onset Alzheimer's.
Rob has faced his diagnosis like he does all things in life - with a positive attitude, accepting that which he cannot change and vowing to make the best of all the good years he has left!
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
