On April 23, I turned 69 years old and am preparing for our Ride to End ALZ. Once again, for the 14th time, we will have a host of avid cyclists riding across South Carolina to help find a way to #EndAlz. We began this ride 14 years ago with 21 cyclists and have had over 300 for the last 6 years. It is a ride for a wonderful cause. And once as I have done for the last few years, I have decided to build another bowl in my studio to go to one of my lucky donors who donate to the cause. This will be a really pretty piece once it is finished. You can see the rings above as I have begun to put in quite a few hours on making it. It is from Walnut, Maple, Purpleheart, and Cherry.
If you will make a donation of $25 dollars to the ride on this page and include your name, you will get one ticket in a drawing that will occur at the end of the ride. If you make a donation of $100 you will get 5 tickets. I am hoping that this effort will raise at least $5000 and I will once again turn those pedals from Simpsonville to Charleston in July.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Now is the time to come together to change the course of this disease!
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you so much, and good luck in the raffle.
