FAQ

The Spoke Series is made up of rides, both outdoor and indoor, all across the country, that want to support the #ENDALZ movement. These rides and events aren't managed by the Alzheimer's Association, but rather by other passionate riders that want to fund Alzheimer's research. Like the spokes on a bike wheel, Spoke Series events provide independent support for Ride to End ALZ by helping turn the wheel and propel the #ENDALZ mission forward.

The Spokes Series happens everywhere! It can be an existing ride near you or an idea for a new, unique ride that you've been thinking about. You sign-up, we'll provide the fundraising tools you need to make it happen.

Dates vary. Some rides are one day while some are ongoing. See each individual ride for details.

In general, Spoke Series rides/events do not have minimums. Each ride has a different structure and requirements, however. Please check the event details page.

There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate in Spoke Series!

Yes. When you register, you will get your own Rider Hub page filled with fundraising tools to help you.

Our online tools located in your Ride Hub and the Ride app make it easy to get started immediately after you register. You can download the app from the App Store, or Google Play.

100 percent of your donations are restricted to Alzheimer's research through the Alzheimer's Association.

To donate offline, visit your friend or family member's personal page, go to alz.org/ride, click "Donate" and search for your friend. Then, download the personalized offline donation form from their page.

Download your personalized offline donation form (found on your fundraising page) and mail it in with the check.

If a donor has written you a check as a donation toward Ride, you may sign it over to the "Alzheimer's Association Ride to End ALZ" and mail it in using an offline donation form.

Yes, but you must follow the 1:1 rule. Every check must have an offline donation form attached to it so we know who to assign the donation to.

Yes. If you made a donation online, you will receive an email receipt immediately. If you make a donation by check, you will receive a paper acknowledgment in the mail.

"If you would like a tax acknowledgment receipt, you must make a donation by credit card or check donation. We do not accept cash donations. Please do not send cash through the mail.

If you are a rider who has received a cash donation, there are two options for applying the cash donation to Ride:
1) You may keep the cash and make an online credit card donation to yourself for the same amount. If you use this option, you will become the official donor and you will receive a tax acknowledgment receipt at the email address that you provide. Do NOT substitute the cash donor's name or address for your own when you make the credit card donation on your card.

2) You may keep the cash and make a donation by personal check for the same amount. You will then mail the check in along with a completed offline donation form. You may put the original donor's information and email address on the offline donation form so they get the financial credit and tax acknowledgment receipt emailed to them."

Yes, Ride accepts matching gift funds, insofar as your donation complies with your employer's matching gift policy. To have your donation matched, check your employer's matching gift policy and process. When applying for the matching funds to be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, please specify that you would like your donation credited to Ride to End ALZ, and specify the location of your ride and the name of the rider who should receive the credit. Please note that matching funds can take weeks or months to process and appear on our website.

To find out if your employer matches donations made to the Alzheimer's Association, please visit http://www.matchinggifts.com/alz/ and enter the company name. Note that the donor is responsible for following up with their employer to apply for the matching funds, according to the company's policy.

Inside your Ride Hub, you will find tools to help you meet and exceed your Ride goals. You will be able to edit your personal fundraising page and share your story with friends and family.

Click on the "Log In" link and enter your username and password that you selected at the time of registration.

Visit alz.org/ride, and click "Log In" in the top right corner (or "Ride Hub" if you are already logged in). Once logged in, a menu will slide out on the right. Click the "Edit My Profile" option near the bottom of your screen.

Log in to your Ride Hub at alz.org/ride with your username and password. Select "My Team" and scroll down to see your team roster.

If you are on a team, log in to your Ride Hub and visit the Email section. Near the bottom of the page, click the link to "send email through your Ride Hub." Go to the Contacts tab and use the filters on the left to identify your team members. Select all of your team members, and click "Email."

Please contact our support team to request a team name change. If you would like to change teams, or leave a team, log in to your Ride Hub and click the edit icon next to your Team Name in the top left corner.

Log in to your Ride Hub and find the "Team Progress" bar on the Dashboard. Under the progress bar, click the edit icon next to "Our Goal."

We do not recommend making your personal page private. A private personal page will not show up when a friend or family member performs a search on our website. Keeping your page public allows you to be found by friends and family who want to support your journey and donate to your Ride.

Log in to your Ride Hub, select "My Page" and then select the "View My Page" button. Scroll down and under "My Donors" you will see a Donate via Mail link. That will allow you to download your offline donation form. Send in any checks or offline donations with this form.
