AAIC 2020 | Latest updates on dementia science
Dear Friend,
Our first-ever virtual Alzheimer's Association International Conference® (AAIC®) is about to come to a close — and I didn't want you to miss the chance to help accelerate research and provide care and support to families affected by Alzheimer's disease. Please join us with your first gift in honor of AAIC 2020.

Here are a few incredible highlights we've seen over the past few days:
  • Flu and pneumonia vaccinations tied to lower risk of Alzheimer's dementia: New research presented at AAIC 2020 suggests flu and pneumonia vaccination — especially multiple vaccinations over time — are associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer's dementia.
  • Markers for tau take us one step closer to a blood test for Alzheimer's: New research at AAIC 2020 focused on emerging markers for an Alzheimer's-related protein known as tau — and, in particular, a specific form called p-tau217.
  • Alzheimer's risk factors may be measurable in adolescents and young adults: New research suggests risk factors for Alzheimer's dementia may be present as early as our teens and 20's.
AAIC is renowned for introducing promising studies and trials to the dementia science world. This year was no different — and we were able to share the experience with more of the world's leading scientists, clinicians, and students than ever before.

If AAIC highlights one truth, it's that despite all the uncertainty in the world, we can't let Alzheimer's research lose momentum. Your first gift now will further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Please visit our website for more exciting findings from this year's conference. We look forward to sharing them with you as we work together toward our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

With deep appreciation,

Donna McCullough

P.S. As the premier annual forum for presentation and discussion of the latest Alzheimer's and dementia research, each year AAIC brings the world a little closer to our ultimate goal: the first survivor of Alzheimer's. Please donate now, and help us accelerate that research while providing care and support to the more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's. Thank you in advance.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
