Alzheimer's disease is costing us in ways that cannot be measured. We lose the people we love or witness their tragic decline to this devastating disease. Alzheimer's is also a financial challenge — costing our nation more than $321 billion in 2022 — and a serious threat to our health and our lives. You may have heard about the new and emerging FDA approved treatments that slow disease progression for individuals with confirmed early Alzheimer's disease. Today, the growing Alzheimer's drug development pipeline is robust with a wide variety of treatment strategies. As I write this, there are more than 140 unique therapies being tested in clinical trials as possible treatments for Alzheimer's disease, including trials funded by the Alzheimer's Association.
