Certain gene may help shield people at risk for Alzheimer's
|
People with the APOE4 gene face an increased risk of Alzheimer's, but a new study shows that individuals who also carry a "protective" form of a gene called klotho were 30 percent less likely to develop Alzheimer's by age 80. Not all APOE4 carriers develop Alzheimer's, and additional research is necessary to determine the role of genetics on the disease. Download our Science Hub app for more on this study.
