Too much TV time may increase dementia risk for older adults
Excessive TV viewing may increase dementia risk, but lots of computer use may protect against cognitive decline, new research suggests. The key difference is that watching TV is considered passive, while activities like reading or computer use require some mental engagement. More frequent exercise and being socially and cognitively engaged may also reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
