COVID-19 may impact Alzheimer’s risk
In an article in Alzheimer’s & Dementia®: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association, researchers say that COVID-19 may have long-term effects on the brains and nervous symptoms of survivors and could increase risk of developing Alzheimer’s. A new, large international study will investigate the correlation between COVID-19 and cognitive decline; it will be funded initially by the Alzheimer’s Association, which will also help coordinate it internationally, with guidance from the World Health Organization.
